Ruby’s Story & Legacy

Ruby Mitchell served over 35 years in the hospital as a transporter, faithfully moving patients with patience, kindness, and a gentle spirit. She was loved by doctors, nurses, staff, and patients — not because of her title, but because of the way she made people feel. Everyone who crossed her path experienced comfort, dignity, and a pleasant moment in the middle of whatever they were facing.

Her work was more than a job. It was service. It was compassion. It was her heart.

Her legacy is the foundation of Ruby’s Heart Home. The values she lived every day — Respect, Stability, Comfort, and Community — now shape the environment created for traveling medical professionals. Every detail in this home reflects her spirit of care. Every guest is welcomed with the same dignity and compassion she offered for decades.

Ruby’s Heart Home is more than a program. It is her love, still serving. Still comforting. Still guiding.

    Soft, Poetic, Ancestral, Powerful

    “I am because they were.”

    Voisstry Legacy Dedication

This legacy was born on January 11, 2026, at 4:27 PM — echoing the moment I entered this world in 1970. Breath and purpose intertwined, destiny and daughter rising together.

My mother, Ruby Mitchell, gave me softness, compassion, and the quiet strength of a woman who loved without limits.

My father, John B. Mitchell, gave me confidence, strategy, advocacy, and the brilliance of thinking in chess, not checkers. He was my first example of leadership and self‑belief — a well‑rounded man, a Masonic Lodge brother, an Air Force serviceman, and the steady voice that taught me to trust my own mind.

From her, I learned the heart.

From him, I learned the mind.

Together, they shaped the balance within me.

Together, they built the resilience that lives through their baby daughter.

Although this dedication circles around my mother, it also belongs to my father.

SALUTE to the man who shaped my strength.

SALUTE to the woman who shaped my spirit.

They are no longer here, but their legacy lives on right here —in this mission, in this work, in this becoming.

    — Voisstry in my Po‑etriii — Voisse

In Honor of Ruby’s Heart Home

    🌸 “Hey Gal…” —🌸 A Poem for Ruby (Mama)

She was raised on red earth and early mornings, where the sun rose slow over the fields

and the work taught you who you were.

A farm girl with strong hands and a soft laugh,

she carried the land inside her —

    steady, humble, rooted.

    Mama could talk for hours,

stories rolling out like warm bread from the oven,

    and I’d sit there laughing,

because she always knew how to make life feel lighter.

Even now, her voice drifts through my memory

    like a careless whisper,

    soft but unforgettable.

    “Hey gal… what you doing?”

    I still hear it.

    That familiar greeting,

that melody of love wrapped in everyday words.

    “Where’s my ZaZa?”

she’d ask with that smile in her voice.

    “Have you heard from Doodi?”

    And then, softer still,

    “What about my great‑grandbabies…

    where’s Laevaeh and A’zaiah?”

She loved her people out loud.

She loved them in roll‑call fashion,

checking on every branch of her tree

like a woman who knew her roots mattered.

    Oh Mama…

    how I miss you.

    Your laughter.

    Your stories.

Your way of turning a simple moment

    into something sacred.

But I know you had to go.

    And still —

    you didn’t leave me empty.

    You left me your heart.

    You left me your warmth.

You left me your way of loving people right.

Now your legacy lives in my hands,

    in my work,

in this home I’m building in your name.

    Ruby, you are the blueprint.

I am just the daughter continuing the work.

🌼 Where Ruby’s Heart Still Lives

A home shaped by Ruby’s legacy of care, stability, and genuine hospitality.

Ruby was the kind of woman whose presence made a house feel like home. She grew up in a Southern community where people looked out for one another, shared what they had, and believed deeply in kindness. Her door was always open, her table always had room for one more, and her words carried both strength and grace.

Ruby’s Heart Home was created to carry forward that legacy. Everything about this home — the warmth, the structure, the dignity, the sense of belonging — reflects the way Ruby lived and loved. She taught that stability comes from consistency, that respect is non‑negotiable, and that community is built through everyday moments: shared stories, quiet conversations, and the simple act of caring for one another.

Today, Ruby’s legacy continues through the Travel Nurse Housing Program, offering a peaceful private room for traveling medical professionals who need a stable, comfortable place to land during their assignments. Each guest is welcomed with the same spirit Ruby showed to everyone who crossed her path.

Her legacy is the foundation of this home — a reminder that compassion is powerful, dignity is essential, and every person deserves a safe place to rest and recharge.

🌼A Home Built From The Heart

Ruby’s Heart Home was created in her honor. The program carries forward her values of compassion, respect, stability, community, and dignity for every person — the same values she lived by every day.

Her love lives on in every gentle act of care, every quiet moment of stability, and every space prepared with dignity for those who care for others.

    🌼Her Legacy Lives On

Ruby’s love continues to shape this home in meaningful ways. Her spirit is present in the warmth offered to every guest, the care put into preparing the private room, and the peaceful environment created for rest and renewal.

Her love lives on in every gentle act of care, every quiet moment of stability, and every space prepared with dignity for those who care for others.

Ruby’s heart is still here — guiding the way this home welcomes traveling medical professionals and ensuring that every person who stays feels valued, respected, and at ease.
